A Real Monster Truck

I am thumbing through the sports section of one of the Philly newspapers, the The Philadelphia Daily News, when I see an article about Phillie's pitcher Jon Leiber and his arrival in Clearwater, Florida for the opening day of Phillies spring training. He shows up in a Ford F650 Supertruck that he got from F650Supertruck. The truck cost him over 200 grand, has six doors (seating for seven), 45" tires, and a 300 HP Caterpillar engine, it weighs about 25,000 pounds. Jon's truck has four 50 gallon diesel fuel tanks, (over 500 bucks to fill), it gets 12 MPG, not to bad considering the size.

Must be nice to have that kind of a cash to throw around a customized truck (the fuel costs alone are unimaginable), but with a 7.5 million dollar salary this year, 200K for a truck is chump change.

Its a nice ride but for that kind of money, I'd take a Ford GT any day.

Check out the Company's website and you will see some pretty cool looking trucks, and some of the customizing work that they have done. The picture above is from the F650 website.
Hopefully for Leiber's sake, he makes the team or he made need that big old truck to move out of town, and if he makes the team, that he has a better year than he did last year.
