I don't see the fascination in day. In all the years I have been alive, I have never celebrated this or gone out to a bar on this day.
Here is Philly we have the infamous South Street, which on a normal weekend night attracts all sorts of characters, on Fat Tuesday, the characters are even more interesting, combine that with alcohol and you have an interesting night for the Philly police.
The Philly police will have extra patrols and wagons in the South Street area to help keep the area relatively calm. I also believe the bars close earlier than normal.
I will be home tonight, being just as boring as ever.
