It wasn't pretty but our girl's managed to pull off a triple play last night. Here is the scenario: Bases were loaded, no outs. Batter hits a line drive to the pitcher, she catches it, then instinctively throws home. The catcher tags the girl coming from third out. Here is the funny part. The catcher doesn't know what to do now, so we are yelling at her to throw the ball to first, since both the first and second base runners ran on contact. Catcher throws the ball to first, and boom, we have a triple play.
It seemed like it took five minutes, but it all played it out in a matter of seconds. It wasn't until after the play at first took place and we explained what happened, that the girls realized what they had done. They were all thrilled.
It was a great way to end the game, which we won 10-2
