The Philadelphia Eagles announced today that former Quarterback/Holder Koy Detmer has been signed to a one year contract. Detmer was signed primarily to be the holder for Kicker David Akers. Punter Dirk Johnson had been the holder all season, and has done an admirable job this year.
My opinion is that the Eagles signed Detmer not only to be the holder but as third Quarterback, since Donovan McNabb has gone down, Jeff Garcia has played remarkably, and AJ Feeley had an excellent game yesterday as Coach Reid played the second and third team players yesterday as the NFC East was clinched earlier in the day with Detroit upsetting the Cowboys.
Welcome back Koy, hope you aren't too rusty.
