Eagles 24 Saints 27

Well the season is over for the Eagles, after last nights disappointing loss to the Saints at the Superdome.

The defense came up way short last night, allowing over 200 yards rushing, they did manage to hold Drew Brees to 243 yards passing, but Brees completed 20 of his 32 passes. The Eagles defense which has been so impressive through the latter part of the season really choked last night. Missed tackles, missed opportunities and overall poor fundamentals, which plagued them so much earlier in the season.

Jeff Garcia was less than impressive last night as well, completing 15 of the 30 passes for 240 yards. The big spark came on the 75 yard touchdown to Donte Stallworth in the second quarter. It was a beautiful throw by Garcia and great run by Stallworth.

Save for the 62 yard touchdown run in the third quarter, Brian Westbrook performance last night as well as the Eagles running game was shut down well by the Saints defense.

It was a nail biter the whole game, and it was exciting to watch, although disappointed at the outcome, the Eagles had a great season, despite losing McNabb midway through.

I hope the Eagles management re-sign Garcia and Stallworth in the off season, as both of these players proved their value to the team.
