A 29 year old man died at Philadelphia's Broad Street Run this past Sunday. The cause of death is unknown at this time. The man was apparently in excellent physical health. He collapsed at the finish line.
I ran this race twice, once in 2001 and again in 2002. Its was one of my favorite races of all that I ran, as it was a flat straight course.
This race is one of the most popular races in the city, and usually attracts over 7,000 runners every year.
My heart goes out to this guy's family.
