It was disclosed earlier this week that Philadelphia Eagles starting right tackle Jon Runyan, has a fractured tail bone. Despite the injury he played the entire game although he has not been practicing.
A twelve year veteran, he has started 185 straight games, inclusive of the Vikings game this past Sunday, was quoted as saying, not playing was never an option.
In an era where professional athletes sit themselves for the often minor injuries, some of which most of us have never heard of, and still collect fat paychecks, Runyan goes out and plays, despite what must be extremely painful.
I have always like his attitude and style on the field, but this goes above and beyond. In my mind he is a true warrior, and deserves respect.
I look forward to him starting game 186 Sunday night.
