Eagles 24 Saints 27

Here are my thoughts on yesterday's debacle of a game

Normally the Eagles crash in the fourth quarter, yesterday, they decided not to show up until the second half. Michael Lewis, the one time pro bowl safety messed up again, and a costly twelve men on the field penalty are also to blame as well. New Orleans played a great game, don't get me wrong, their use of the three step drop, which didn't allow the oft formidable pass rush of the Eagles to get to Brees was well executed. Sean Payton coached a heckuva game.

The Eagles clock management and use of timeouts is again being called into question. There is no way that the Saints should have been able to roll off 1:57 of the final two minutes that setup the winning field goal.

The local folks here on sports radio are saying that the players were emotionally drained from last week's big win here in Philly versus the Cowboys. I say that is a crock. These guys are professionals and have been playing ball most of their lives. Its all about execution or lack there of.

This is (still) a good Eagles team, who was beaten by a better coached Saints team. The Saints showed up, the Eagles didn't

Any given Sunday
